Sulky Certified Teacher Training FAQs

Q. Do I have to be a sewing teacher to take the Sulky Certified Teacher Training?
A.
No. Whether you want to begin a career as a sewing teacher or advance your sewing career, the Sulky Teacher Certification Training is designed to enhance your success. Many of our students take the Sulky Certified Teacher training simply to increase their sewing skills for their own enjoyment.

Q. What type of classes will we learn to teach?
A.
Some of the most sought-after Sit-and-Sew, Creative Machine Art Classes! Techniques you'll learn to teach include free motion Thread Painting, fabric manipulation, making chenille, decorative stitch appliqué, 3-D work with Puffy Foam, multiple quilting techniques and so much more - plus - 2 extra bonus techniques will be demonstrated. These new classes will only be offered at 10 locations throughout the U.S. A new curriculum will be offered in 2009. Don't miss your chance to obtain these exclusive teaching tools now!

Q. What sewing skill level do I need to have before taking Certification?
A.
We recommend that you have some sewing experience and are comfortable using basic straight and zigzag stitches on your sewing machine.

Q. Do I need to bring a sewing machine and if so, what kind of machine?
A.
You will bring your own sewing machine to the training. A basic straight stitch, zigzag machine can be used although built-in decorative stitches are a plus. Most importantly, bring a machine you are familiar with and know is in good working order. You may want to have it cleaned and serviced prior to coming to the training. There can be nothing more disappointing or frustrating when trying to learn new sewing techniques with a machine you don't know how to operate or one that won't cooperate! Be sure to bring along your machine instruction manual and accessories.

Q. What will I need to bring?
A.
