Joyce Drexler mentioned heirloom sewing above… look at this incredible quilt covered in heirloom sewing and this adorable grandbaby belonging to Joyce Crosby. Joyce should be very proud of this magnificent heirloom she created using Sulky Threads for her daughter, Jennifer's, precious baby girl, Lauren. She was kind enough to share this with me.
She also told me: "I have five smocks that I have worn to work for the last 7 years. They all have several embroideries on them. I can't even guess how many times they have been washed but the Sulky has retained it's beauty, sheen and brightness. While the smocks are getting a little worn, the embroideries look great. I wear them, really, to show customers that Sulky is the best." Joyce (Crosby) and I share a love of St. Bernards.

Lee Fletcher (middle, front), Sulky National Educator, and her enthusiastic fun group at the Sulky Certified Teacher Training event in San Diego, CA. |
We have a number of easy, quick projects that you can do with the kids and grandkids, too.
Janet Martin had this to say about her Sulky Certified Teacher Training experience with Sulky National Educator, Lee Fletcher, in San Diego in September:
"Initially I was hesitant to sign up for the training only because I didn't know anyone who attended a past event who could have told me 'You have to go!'. It isn't everyday that I drop that kind of money on myself so I really debated with myself for more than a week before signing up.
Well, I am so glad I did. I think the value of what I learned, the fun I had, and the camaraderie of all of the students made for the best 3 days ever. The box of project kits and supplies completely thrilled me. It felt like Christmas both in class, and again when I got home and could really take some time to see everything Sulky provided.
I sure hope Sulky will consider returning to San Diego again next year... I'm ready to sign up NOW.
Please extend my thanks to the entire Sulky family for coming up with this concept and for executing it so well. I can hardly wait for the next one."
Thank you, Janet.

As most of you know, we discontinued the Sulky Challenge several years ago mostly as a result of the direct hit that our Florida facility took from Hurricane Charley. We are really delighted that Sulky is now co-sponsoring the prestigious Hoffman Challenge, which has a long, rich history of encouraging and rewarding creativity.
Since numerous past entrees in the Hoffman Challenge have featured extensive and often-dramatic uses of Sulky Decorative Rayon, Metallic and Cotton Threads, we love being able to co-sponsor this Challenge so that we can acknowledge and reward the best of future entrants who use Sulky Products.
Consumers know they can Quilt with Confidence with Hoffman Fabrics and "Create with Confidence" with Sulky Products. Now, they can do it all in one big contest. Go to hoffmanchallenge.com to see the 2010 winners and get your entry form for the 2011 Challenge.
