SULKY ART, FUN AND FASHION FOR EVERYONE!

It has been challenging to top last year's "Sulky Techniques Galore and More" Certified Teacher Training event, our most successful event ever. But we think we've done it! Almost 150 people have already signed up for the 2010+ training with the projects "sight unseen", and we are very flattered and grateful. But now the projects are ready to be viewed! In addition to this beautiful landscape designed by Carol Ingram, all the projects can be viewed at: sulky.com

"In the Heart of the Woods Landscape"

Close-up of Landscape

More than TEN new projects, each with several techniques. PLUS... THE information everyone has been asking for:

  • How can I market and sell my own sewing creations or teaching skills?
  • DEMYSTIFYING STABILIZERS: I am so confused about stabilizers... There are so many choices, and I know they make all the difference for a finished, professional look, but how do I know what to use and where? Can't it be made simple?
  • It can't be THAT hard to make beautiful computerized embroideries, can it?

Are you asking yourself, "Why would I want to become a Sulky Certified Teacher, NOW of all times?". Click here and learn more.

This year in April, we are launching the 2010 Certified Teacher Training series in Kennesaw, GA, where our offices and warehouse are located. This location has been so popular we had to add a second class there last Fall. Even though we doubled the size of these classes (and the number of Sulky Educators), they still filled rapidly.

ERIC DREXLER'S AMAZING STRAIGHT-STITCH, FREE-MOTION DESIGNS

Free-motion artistry has been a life-long passion of Eric's ever since he was inspired by Joyce when, at age 10, she first taught him the technique. He has made numerous large and small works of machine art, some of which have been featured in Sulky Books and at Trade and Consumer Shows all over the country.

Through his association with Sulky of America during all the years of its existence, he has had the pleasure and honor of being inspired by some of the world's greatest creative sewers and quilters.

This Gray Dragon is 14" X 15-1/2". The design was drawn onto Sulky Soft 'n Sheer Stabilizer, and free-motion, straight-stitched, using Sulky 40 wt. Rayon in both solid colors and variegated.

Sulky C0-SPONSORS THE HOFFMAN 2010 CHALLENGE!

As most of you know, we discontinued the Sulky Challenge several years ago mostly as a result of the direct hit that our Florida facility took from Hurricane Charley. We are really delighted that Sulky is now co-sponsoring the prestigious Hoffman Challenge, which has a long, rich history of encouraging and rewarding creativity. Since numerous past entrees in the Hoffman Challenge have featured extensive and often-dramatic uses of Sulky Decorative Rayon, Metallic and Cotton Threads, we love being able to co-sponsor this Challenge so that we can acknowledge and reward the best of future entrants who use Sulky Products. Consumers know they can Quilt with Confidence with Hoffman Fabrics and "Create with Confidence" with Sulky Products. Now, they can do it all in one big contest. Go to hoffmanchallenge.com to see the 2009 winners and get your entry form for 2010.

Sue Moats, Freelance National Educator for Sulky of America, and well-known long arm quilter, made the vest shown here out of the Hoffman 2010 Challenge fabric. This vest was proudly displayed in the Sulky booth at the International Quilt Market and Festival.

LEAD-FREE PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS

What you as consumers most often want to know is whether Sulky threads and stabilizers are lead-free. You will be happy to know that all Sulky products are, indeed, lead-free and ACID FREE, and that as soon as the certification documents are available, this information will be posted at sulky.com.
