Greetings,

Everyone take a deep breath. The holidays are over and our normal lives can resume. (Normal? Hmmm.) It was a wonderful Christmas here in the Smoky Mountains with loads of family and fun. A great way to start off 2008.

Lots of people wrote expressing holiday wishes, and happiness about our new 4-month-old puppy, Bright (pictured below in her sweater). Thank you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
EVERYONE!
From,
Bright
What a hoot she was with all the company, wrappings, ribbons and food being dropped on the floor. She apparently has this need to take all her toys to bed with her when she naps. Pretty lumpy if you ask me!

I hope all of you got all of the good things that you wished for, and more. And I hope lots of those wishes were sewing and embroidery related. I always look forward to calming down in January and getting back to sewing with my friends on weekends. Who knows, maybe this year we'll actually start planning early to make our 2008 Christmas gifts.

High on my priority list for January is working on a separate supplement for our all-time, best selling book, Sulky Secrets to Successful Stabilizing, which was originally published in 1994 and updated several times since then. We have lots of new products, including some terrific new stabilizers, that were not included in that stabilizer "bible", or they were included just generally in the updates. So the supplement will have lots of fun projects using our newest stabilizers:

Ultra Solvy, Paper Solvy, Fabri-Solvy, Fuse 'n Stitch and several brand new stabilizers that are coming soon!

In the not-too-distant-future we will tell you in a newsletter when the Stabilizer Supplement and new Sulky Stabilizers are available for you to own and use.

Another taping of "Quilting Arts" is just around the corner (at the end of January) and that means another fun weekend with our friends at Abigayle's Quiltery in Olmsted Falls, OH! I am SOOOO looking forward to some quality quilting time with my friends.

Fred and I wish all the best for you, your family and loved ones this New Year. Thank you for continuing to choose Sulky products to use in your creative adventures.

Until next month - Express Yourself!

2008 SULKY TEACHER CERTIFICATION TRAINING

There has been lots of excitement about the new projects for the upcoming 2008 Sulky Teacher Certification Trainings that begin in March. We think this is the best curriculum ever, and are very excited about sharing these projects with you.

Treat yourself to a fun 3 days with people who love doing what you love to do. No one has more fun than a group of women unleashed!

Here are some comments from the large group that attended our Kennesaw, GA, event in November 2007:

Did you feel you received a good value for your dollar? "Yes! The teachers were excellent; the food and lodging were terrific; and even the hotel staff was wonderful." J.B.

"Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. It was well worth the trip and the cost. I definitely have to ask for money for my birthday in '08 so I can come back!" A.D.

"Thank you for offering a quality education event. For me, it was quite relaxing and restorative." M.T.

"The level of talent in the room was astounding. The fact that other national-level instructors are taking this training speaks volumes." C.R.

"I love Sulky threads. It's now a tradition to attend classes. The value of the class, information, products included, friendships, techniques learned, etc., just can't be beat as far as I'm concerned." J.D.

"I truly enjoyed the personalities, teaching experiences, (and) knowledge, of Ellen (Osten), Pat (Rodgers) and Nancy (Sapin). They were a great team. As a student it's so nice to have teachers that really love what they are doing and it shows. Also the lack of competitiveness - just confident, strong women that are kind and interesting was a breath of fresh air! These three gals are great role models, and so professional. Thanks for everything!" P.D.

"This year's certification isn't over and already I am anxious to attend next year's classes!" R.B.L.

NOTE: Almost 2/3 of that huge class signed up for the same event in Kennesaw for 2008. Thank you to them, and if you want to be part of this special event, which includes a tour of the Sulky warehouse, be sure to sign up now. Don't wait!

Grandma Goes Wild
A Sulky Puffy Foam™ Project

This has been one of the all-time most popular projects we have ever offered in any of our books. This one is from our best-selling book, Sulky Secrets to Successful Stabilizing (#900B-11), which Joyce mentioned above. It's a simple project that can be done using computerized machine embroidery, or just festive, fun fabrics.

The Sulky Puffy Foam adds dimension and can be stitched on any machine that has a zigzag capability. So the project can be done just as easily on simple, basic sewing machines or sophisticated computerized embroidery machines, and all those in between.

If Sulky Puffy Foam (which is a high-quality foam MADE for use with your sewing machine) is not available in your area, visit www.sulky.com to locate a retailer near you, or, if you are ever unable to find any of the Sulky Products or put-ups that you are looking for locally, check out these 2 Mail Order/On-Line sources that have, in stock, every Product and Put-up that Sulky makes: www.speedstitch.com. Phone -1-866-829-7235, and www.uncommonthread.com. Phone -1-877-294-5427.

We do not recommend using "craft" foam on your sewing machine.
